The online course takes an average of four hours to complete (approximately 20 minutes per topic). After completing all 10 sections of the course, a 50-question final exam follows. A score of 84% or higher on the final exam is required.

An alternative to traditional, classroom-based ACLS training, the self-directed HeartCode ACLS eLearning program uses eSimulation technology to let students participate in realistic patient scenarios, assess patients based on the most recent American Heart Association® guidelines, and formulate treatment -- online and at their own pace. As they train, an evaluation mechanism and intelligent debriefing provide students with immediate and objective feedback on whether their actions were correct or incorrect, and offer suggestions for improvement.

Other features include the ability to treat multiple rhythms (megacode) in the same scenario; a new respiratory arrest case; a new code clock; a team dynamics lesson; a precourse self-assessment that helps students gauge their knowledge of ECG recognition and pharmacology; access to patient scenarios and text material for up to two years; and the full text (in PDF form) of the ACLS Provider Manual, and the ACLS Core Drugs reference guide.

NOTE: You must purchase one online HeartCode ACLS Part 1 program for each student you need to train. Upon completion of the online, cognitive portion of the course (Part 1), students are then tested (*Part 2) with a certified American Heart Association® ACLS instructor. Successful completion of all three parts meets the requirements for the issuing of an American Heart Association® ACLS provider card.

NOTE: This is a single use product. You must purchase one Heartcode ACLS Online Course Part 1 for each student trained. This product is not eligible for the standard return policy. It is not compatible with Mac operating systems. *Part 2 is not included in the purchase of this product.

HeartCode PALS Part 1 is a self-directed, interactive, CD-based product intended for healthcare professionals who require a PALS Provider course completion card, as well as nurses and emergency medical services personnel seeking continuing education credit. Using eSimulation technology, the program presents 12 realistic, hospital-based, pediatric patient cases that teach healthcare providers to evaluate and manage seriously ill infants and children. Students interact with the program to assess each patient, formulate a treatment plan -- based on the PALS algorithm and the most recent American Heart Association® Guidelines for CPR and ECC -- and provide treatment in a virtual setting. Students who successfully complete the cognitive component (Part 1 CD), followed by successful skills testing (*Part 2) with a PALS instructor, receive an American Heart Association® PALS Provider course completion card. Students have access to the course for one year from initial license activation, allowing them to refresh their skills.

NOTE: This program can only be run on the computer on which it was originally installed, and is not compatible with Mac(R) computers. This is a single-use product. You must purchase one HeartCode PALS Part 1 program for each student. This product is not eligible for the standard return policy. *Part 3 is not included in the purchase of this product.
