approved, or meet the requirements of nearly 2,000
state regulatory agencies and occupational licensing
boards, including those licensing Emergency Medical
Service providers, physicians, pharmacists, dental

enforcement officers, school teachers, and many
others.
ASHI’s resuscitation programs for basic and advanced
life support conform to national standards and are
based on the same scientific guidelines and
treatment recommendations used by the American Heart
Association (AHA) and American Red Cross (ARC) for
course development. ASHI professional resuscitation
programs meet the requirements of the Joint
Commission (JCAHO PC.9.30 revisions)
and the Commission on Accreditation of Medical
Transport Services.
ASHI resuscitation programs are nationally approved
by the Continuing Education Board for Emergency
Medical Services (CECBEMS), and are accepted as
equivalent to the AHA and ARC by most state
regulatory authorities, the National Registry of
Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT), the

CPR for the
Professional Rescuer
program is designed for healthcare providers,
emergency medical responders, and professional
rescuers in and outside the hospital, or anyone
needing professional level basic life support
training and certification as a job requirement.

Each participant is expected to have
reviewed the information in the CPR PRO Student Handbook prior to the course.

CPR PRO Student
Handbook
Provides professional level care for adult and
pediatric emergencies. Reflects 2005 guideline
updates. Updated version released October 2009.
A score of 77% or better must be achieved on the written test.
Satisfactory completion of the
skills testing scenarios.

the HSI Blended Learning solution. Information
presented online is the same material for all
students ensuring that they are adequately prepared
as a group to meet skill objectives. Certification
is received after knowledge and skill objectives are
reviewed by an Instructor.

Student and Instructors can automatically receive
email notification regarding enrollment, follow-up,
and completion associated with the training program.

Self-directed, active experience that appeals to the
adult student. Also includes access to the CPR-Pro
Student Handbook in digital form.
Challenge Option
Experienced providers may wish to challenge CPR
Pro for the Professional Rescuer by getting a
passing score on the written exam and demonstrating
competent performance of skills. Participants must
arrive prepared for skill testing and must perform
competently without assistance on performance
evaluations for all appropriate age groups. Students
who cannot perform competently without assistance
have not successfully completed the course.
Students learn how to recognize a life-threatening
emergency, how to provide basic life support and
what to do in case of an airway obstruction or
choking. ASHI"s CPR PRO
has been approved for training for Emergency Medical
Services personnel and is accepted by the National
Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT).
