ASHI’s training programs are
nationally recognized and are endorsed, accepted,
approved, or meet the requirements of nearly 2000
state regulatory agencies and occupational licensing
boards, including those licensing Emergency Medical
Service providers, physicians, pharmacists, dental
health professionals, child care providers, law
enforcement officers, school teachers, and many
others.
ASHI’s resuscitation programs for basic and advanced
life support conform to national standards and are
based on the same scientific guidelines and
treatment recommendations used by the American Heart
Association (AHA) and American Red Cross (ARC) for
course development. ASHI professional resuscitation
programs meet the requirements of the Joint
Commission (JCAHO PC.9.30 revisions)
and the Commission on Accreditation of Medical
Transport Services.

Does everyone accept this program? There is no national, state, agency
or board regulatory requirement to use any
specific program. These programs are accepted as
equivalent to AHA in all states.
They also meet all the requirements for JCAHO, OSHA,
Texas Department of Health, Homeland Security and
many more.

Where does
the information come from? The information used is the
same information used by all resuscitation programs,
including the American Heart Association™.
Everyone obtains the resuscitation recommendations
from the International Liaison Committee on
Resuscitation (ILCOR). The International Liaison
Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR) was formed in
1992 to provide a forum for liaison between
principal resuscitation organizations worldwide.
The objectives of the ILCOR are to:
Provide a forum for discussion and for
coordination of all aspects of cardiopulmonary
and cerebral resuscitation worldwide.
Foster scientific research in areas of
resuscitation where there is a lack of data or
where there is controversy.
Disseminate information on training and
education in resuscitation.
Provide a mechanism for collecting,
reviewing and sharing international scientific
data on resuscitation.
Produce statements on specific issues
related to resuscitation that reflect
international consensus.
